Biggest interdimensional cross rip since the Tunguska blast of 1909

Four years later...he finally got off his lazy ass and finished it.

The AT journal is complete. I think. But that's where you come in.

I believe everything is in order. But I'm sloppy sometimes, so if you notice a missing link or a picture that's not what it should be, please let me know. Hell, inform me of any horrid grammatical errors I may have made as well. Otherwise, for those of you who enjoy reading such things, have at it. The entire Katahdin->Monson trip, plus a few interesting tidbits from after the journey, are all now documented, photos included.

Oh, and I realize the "Previous" and "Next" buttons don't show up in Mozilla - I'm not sure why the script doesn't work outside of IE, but if I can't figure out within a few days, I'll just put boring, stale hyperlinks in their stead.

What do you mean, "biblical"?

As my abhorrence for myspace and the cesspool associated therein holds strong, I feel all the better working on my site. So I believe this week I shall finish the legendary trail journal, time permitting. You wouldn't believe the hurdles I've encountered in getting my security clearance so I could start work, and as such, my free time wasn't as free as I would've liked.

This past Sunday, I attended a humble get-together at Scanlon's which turned out to be quite pleasant. Of course a truly pleasant night couldn't be complete without a minor amount of destruction and/or foolhardy juvenile scheming, so Vegas, O and myself decided to burn things.

We had the setup, the execution, the result, the augmentation, the rejoicing, the hand-off, the continued wonder and finally the anticlimactic conclusion. Since Bill's fire extinguisher didn't, uh...WORK...we used a small bucket of water.

Which Bill also ignited.

There was some nonsense about wasps which was the reason we first thought about making fire, but that seemed academic by the end. It should be noted that I do not take credit for these photos, I believe Shay took them all. Correct me if I'm wrong, ladies.

Sumerian, not Babylonian

This past weekend included a difficult decision regarding future employment - I went for however-many-months with nothing, then I get two appealing job offers within 24 hours of each other. Go figure. The world certainly does seem to take pleasure in mocking me every now and again.

When all was said and done, SRI @ Fort Monmouth won out. I'll be starting work there (as soon as my security clearance is taken of, yarg), so wish me luck. I think I'll need it for a job like this - woo engineering defense work. The song "Electric Eye" keeps popping into my head whenever I think about this position.

During the second to last week in July (23-29), there must be a McSorley's run. My buddy Dave will be coming up from Florida, and I know others are going into McS withdrawal, so I take it as my duty to announce the necessity of the run here.

P.S. Happy 4th to all, and all that jazz.
