There were only a handful of these along the way, but they were helpful. It wasn't impossible to get by without using them, which was a good thing - higher up, there were some locations where such handles would've been useful. I assume the volunteers who put these in didn't feel like placing more handles on the steeper, more troublesome sections (and understandably so).
